About Jazz 4 Nothin’
Jazz 4 Nothin’ is a subgroup of the not-for-profit corporation in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Music 4 Nothin’! The organization is centrally located in Bucks County, PA. Through practice and performance, Jazz 4 Nothin’ furthers the education of its musicians and audiences in the jazz genre and advocates for the serious appreciation of America’s greatest musical style.
What does the “4 Nothin’” mean?
We are a non-profit organization of volunteer musicians and it takes money to keep us up and running. This is acquired through donations, fundraising, and paid performances. Come and join us on Wednesday evenings from 7 – 9pm for practice, and have a great time! We encourage members to promote the group. Of course, if you wish to donate a little money from time to time, we’ll accept that, too!
Our History
The group formed in the winter of 2010 with a vision to challenge community players by playing big band jazz. Since then, the combination of rehearsals and performances has enriched the experiences and education of a range of musicians.

Programs We Offer
Rehearsals &
Clinics
Jazz 4 Nothin’ invites musicians in Bucks County and surrounding areas to a weekly rehearsal. Participants learn how to approach ensemble performance, improvisational soloing, stylistic varieties and much more under the guidance and mentorship of many of our experienced musicians. More so, they learn the history of jazz greats, such as band leaders Maynard Ferguson & Buddy Rich, composers Duke Ellington & Pat Metheny, and arrangers Sammy Nestico & Bill Holman!
Students of music and community players of any age should reach out to learn more about rehearsal locations, times, & availability!
Let us bring our rehearsals to your school! On an evening of your choice, we conduct rehearsals for students in your school, showing them rehearsal ethic and practicing techniques in both sectionals and ensemble. At the end of the evening, students will perform with the band! We guarantee a great experience provided at no charge to schools!
Schools & Exhibition Performances
We can perform at your school’s festival or event and share our mission of jazz education and advocacy!
We have performed at many schools, including Abington Junior High School, Tohickon Middle School, Unami Middle School, Schalick High School, and Central Bucks West High School in exhibition!
When we play at schools, we emphasize to your students that participating in musical activities does not end at the completion of the school day. It is a treasure trove of experiences, friendships, challenges and enjoyment that can carry them throughout their lives. Our message enables students to understand the significance of their music programs and inspires them to challenge themselves to be better musicians, students, and citizens!!

Our extensive library of high caliber jazz big band music is sure to entertain. Our powerhouse of screaming trumpets, soulful saxophones, and rocking guitarists will keep your audiences entertained and wanting more! We engage our audiences in a variety of styles, including swing, Latin and contemporary, and sharing with them tidbits of history and jazz education.
All proceeds from performances go directly toward our educational programming!!
